The Lewisville Police Department (LPD) is committed to transparency by providing residents with access to public records and information. LPD believes being transparent fosters a trusting and lasting bond with residents, who often interact with officers during some of their most trying times. In mid-2020 a call for change in police policy swept the nation. LPD has created this page in order to publish timely reports, interviews, and other documents related to police activity in Lewisville. The intent of this page is to make it easier for residents to find this information. This page will be updated as more information becomes available.

The State Legislature passed the Community Safety Education Act. The goal of the act is to define the behavior and expectations of citizens and law enforcement during traffic interactions. To find out more and to see examples of proper interactions with law enforcement, check out the Texas Education Agency page to watch a video.
