Information on Boards, Commissions and Committees

The Lewisville City Council currently makes appointments to nine City boards/commissions/committees, as well as four tax increment reinvestment zones. Appointments are considered by the Council prior to June 30 of each year for expiring terms of office.  The City also has four corporation boards.  The terms of office for the corporation boards have various expiration dates.

In addition to these standing appointments, the Council may, from time to time, appoint individuals to fill interim terms created by current members who can no longer serve, and appoint special study committees.

If you are interested in serving on a board/commission/committee, complete an online application using this link. The data sheets are submitted to the Council prior to upcoming appointments and as vacancies occur during the year. The data sheets are retained by the City Secretary for a period of one year.

We encourage interested citizens to visit with any Council member and express their desire to serve our community in any of these capacities. Applicants for boards/commissions/committees will be notified as appointments are being considered and the date and time that informal receptions and interviews will be held by the council to meet and talk with individuals interested in serving.
